Storytelling Through Composite

The word composite is used interchangeable in visual art. The COMM 220 Composite course encourages students to expand their ideas through layered elements of physical and digital media. The assignments ans projects pushes the boundaries of traditional digital compositing, encouraging students to explore manipulating vector, raster, time-based, and spacial imagery .

Students select a short story or song as their inspiration, then create a comprehensive visual representation. The project's open-ended nature allows for diverse interpretations and outputs, including 2D, 3D, video, and conceptual RPG elements and packaging design.

A key aspect of this course is that students create all content themselves.

The digital media industry is vast and constantly evolving. This project's flexibility allows students to focus on areas that align with their career interests, whether in game design, film production, advertising, or other digital media fields. By solving a complex visual problem, students prepare themselves for the diverse challenges they'll face in their professional careers.
