Golden Lens Photography Competition brought to life through a powerful partnership between Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) and the Prize Foundation, Golden Lens celebrates the convergence of fine art and commercial photography. This annual event challenges artists to capture the essence of our region during the electrifying Prize Fest season, merging narrative and commercial elements into captivating images that represent a specific time and place.

As the instructor for the COMM 220: Compositing course at Bossier Parish Community College, I want to share insights into this unique and immersive learning experience. COMM 220: Compositing equips students with the skills and mindset necessary to excel in the ever-evolving media landscape. This dynamic learning environment mirrors real-world challenges, empowering aspiring media professionals to become effective communicators, creative problem-solvers, and valuable contributors.
Iridescence Exhibition at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum
Wavelengths Between Us included in the Iridescence Exhibition at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Works by Soo Sunny Park, Kate Nichols, Christopher Marley, Ted Kinsman, Karl Gaff, Franziska Schenk, and The Lordlab will be on display through July 31st 2022.
Masur Museum 58th Juried Competition
I think continually about how to present images. I am honored to have two images in the Masur Museum 58th Annual Juried Competition. One of the pieces received third place. and I wanted to share a little about the photograph and how I presented the work in this exhibition.
Organizing my thoughts so we can have a conversation
Coping mechanisms are interesting to me, I compartmentalize and separate emotions into imaginary boxes. Exploring how that might work in a physical environment resulted in these works.
Survival Strategy
Surviving is on my mind, responding to the stress of how much my life changed during the pandemic. I believe at some point all humans need to just blend into their environment even those of us that typically stand out and shout from the rooftops.
Demochroa Gratiosa is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
Learning how to make samples for a transmission electron microscope at UGA was not on my radar. The experience of spending so much time waiting to see an image was rewarding, getting to learn new ways of making images is inspiring.

Cyanotypes: alternative Process in photography
Morpho butterfly wings are structural color, I used a cyanotype process to make some images along with using the wings as negatives to create this unique butterfly wing coat for my work.
Teaching photography online: New tools
Oh the interesting things I am trying out as teaching tools for pandemic online resources. Off camera flash lesson via zoom behind my house was most interesting.
