Organizing my thoughts so we can have a conversation
Entomology is an integral part of the work I make—the insects as objects or inspiration for translating personal thoughts responding to their behaviors. I also find inspiration in how the insects are preserved and kept. Butterflies are preserved and kept in wooden drawers that are unique; each top perfectly fits the bottom to keep out destructive elements keeping the specimens protected.
Carefully labeled and managed provides systems and order in keeping track of important information. The system I use for managing my thoughts is similar, compartmentalizing as a coping mechanism and putting things in boxes mentally to manage my emotions easier. I am choosing how to stack them to keep some at the bottom and harder to get to or how heavy they might be. Keeping thoughts in order unable to escape.
